The updated Day 5 route will be the longest of the event, covering 76.7 miles with an elevation gain of 5,139 feet, making it the most challenging day of the ride. This route will also mark the conclusion of the 2-day ride option. The original route was released in November 2024.

Event Director’s Statement

Event Director Scotti Moody addressed the change in a statement posted on Facebook:

“When building a new Graveler route, my priority is to first identify welcoming host cities, and then build the most scenic and safest gravel route possible to connect these communities. In November, Arkansas Graveler announced that Heber Springs would be our fifth and final host city, and they were excited to host! However, when I took multiple scouting trips over the fall and winter looking for a viable way to connect Morrilton to Heber Springs via gravel roads, most of the roads that were designated as gravel on my route-building platform turned out to have all been paved. Ultimately, the Arkansas Graveler promises its participants an epic gravel experience, and for this reason, the event is updating its final route and host city. I have grown fond of Heber Springs and its leadership and encourage everyone to go visit their beautiful area. They are in the process of opening some new bike-friendly trails, and we will look to include Heber Springs in future years from a different direction.”

New Route Details

According to the event website, Day 5 will begin in Morrilton, where riders will depart after breakfast and travel west on relatively flat gravel roads through Arkansas River Valley farmland. The route then turns north through Jerusalem, Arkansas, before entering the Ozark National Forest.

Riders will face a major climb up White Oak Mountain, rewarded with a scenic overlook at the top. As the course turns south, heading back into the River Valley, participants will have the opportunity to cool off with a dip in Miller’s Bath Swimming Hole before completing the final stretch into Russellville.
