KIRBY, Ark. — Daisy State Park marked a significant milestone Friday with the grand opening of its new Visitor Center and playground. Guests, local officials, and community members attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the occasion. The additions reflect the park’s ongoing commitment to enhancing visitor experiences and expanding outdoor recreation opportunities.

Nestled in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains near Kirby, Arkansas, Daisy State Park offers a picturesque escape on the shores of Lake Greeson. This scenic park provides a perfect blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities, with the sparkling waters of the lake serving as a focal point. The newly opened Visitor Center serves as a central hub for park information, offering educational exhibits, visitor services, and modern amenities to improve the overall guest experience. “This is an exciting day for Daisy State Park and the many visitors who come here each year to experience the beauty of Lake Greeson and the surrounding Ouachita Mountains,” said Shea Lewis, secretary of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism. “The new Visitor Center and playground further our mission of providing high-quality outdoor recreation and education for all who visit.”

Following the ribbon-cutting, attendees explored the new facilities, participated in guided tours of the Visitor Center, and watched families take advantage of the playground’s new features. Park guests expressed enthusiasm for the latest improvements, which reinforce Daisy State Park’s reputation as a destination for boating, fishing, hiking, and camping.

Daisy State Park provides a range of amenities to enhance visitors’ experience. For overnight stays, the park offers 100 campsites, including Class A, Class B, and tent site options catering to various camping preferences. Access to Lake Greeson is made easy with a convenient boat ramp, allowing for boating and fishing adventures. For those looking to explore the lake at a slower pace, kayak rentals are available. Additionally, the park offers unique Yurt accommodations for a comfortable and memorable stay. Beyond these, visitors can enjoy picnic areas, playgrounds, hiking trails, and ATV riding on the Bear Creek Multi-Use Trail ensuring a well-rounded outdoor experience.
